Playfulness
In the process of endeavouring to heal ourselves and create a way of living authentically, a playful approach can create more fluidity, innovation and ultimately allow for more growth. So often we approach our own healing with a to-do mentality.
We come from a culture so embedded in productivity, outcome, stimulation and doing – that it can feel uncomfortable to allow a mindset of willingness to fall or not know what to do, to be vulnerable, to ‘get it wrong.’ Yet ironically that drive to heal ‘perfectly’ is the very thing that will get in our way of doing so.
Like a child learning to walk and tumbling down, laughing or feeling a bit wobbly and needing some support – when are grown up we still are learning, and there is no more shame in wobbling and falling down. To be willing to stumble and try again. To not get lost in self judgement and ridicule, or analysing what went wrong, but playfully reflecting, finding gratitude for learning and finding our feet to just be with ourselves, wherever we are at.
